Some tips for photographing babies.

With the birth of a child comes the desire to constantly photograph them and record every moment, no matter how mundane!

Having a record of all the stages of our baby's life is practically imperative, and we can do this through photography or video. The widespread use of smartphones has helped with this task because we carry a camera around 24 hours a day, always ready to shoot. With this ease of use came another need – quantity is not quality, and that's precisely where I want to help you!

Here are some tips to help with this fun, yet challenging task, in order to achieve better results in home photos or sessions with a professional photographer:

The environment should be comfortable for the baby, with an appropriate temperature and preferably a familiar place, such as their own home;
- Play relaxing background music ;
The baby should wear comfortable clothes ;
Choose a location with good natural light;
- Eliminate all noise in terms of decorative/clutter elements;
- Choose a spot for this purpose, test it in terms of lighting throughout the day, and when we get the perfect photo, we know that in that place and at that time of day, success will be practically guaranteed;
- The photographer's interaction with the baby and family before starting to photograph is essential to create a connection and facilitate the work;
Parents should always be nearby so the baby always feels safe;
- It's quite likely that the baby will start crying, in which case the session should be interrupted until the baby is comfortable again;
As you know, babies make countless different and spontaneous expressions, so you should use continuous shooting mode ;
- Take breaks to allow the baby to eat and rest;
Newborn babies should be photographed within the first two weeks of life, as they sleep more and are easier to 'model'.

Nowadays, there are countless smartphone and computer apps that help improve photos. Choose from the many options on the market, experiment until you find your style!
