Traveling with babies - how to do it practically and smoothly?
Mar 25, 2021
It's inevitable: as soon as the year begins, we start dreaming about family vacations, warm destinations, playing by the sea, the baby's first wet feet... in short, a whole set of projections that help us ward off the cold!
With the arrival of Spring, the dream begins to become a reality. Many parents, at this time of year, have already chosen their destination and started making reservations, which greatly helps in planning the trip in advance and, consequently, increases the likelihood of a successful vacation because they have time to organize and ensure nothing is missing.
If this is your case, if you already have in mind how and where you can enjoy a few days of well-deserved rest with your family, we'll help you think about some of the essential items you can include in your travel preparation list to make it a practical and smooth trip.
The trip
The journey itself can set the tone for the holidays: either it goes well, it's fun, enjoyable, and therefore everyone arrives in good spirits and starts off on the right foot; or, on the other hand, if it's stressful, with tantrums and other unpleasantness mixed in, it results in a bad start that can affect and influence the family's first few days. Don't let that happen.
First, think about your travel bag, especially if you're traveling by plane. We always think that the baby's bag will take up the least space for obvious reasons like their clothes being smaller, but there's a whole list of accessories and complementary products that do just the opposite: the baby ends up carrying the most stuff! Therefore, it's important to choose a practical and functional bag.
Our JetKids Bed Box is one of the most complete you'll find on the market: not only is the suitcase itself spacious, but it also functions as a carrier for the child and even turns into a bed on an airplane seat. Its swivel wheels allow the child to easily pull the suitcase themselves or sit on top and be pulled (which is a lot of fun!).
During the trip, you know what will happen with 99% certainty? Your baby will be hungry (at the least convenient time possible to feed them!). Therefore, keep something practical to eat in your handbag or in the front of the car, and pack it well to avoid disasters. A soup or baby food pre-heated at home can go in a thermal jug , peeled fruit or some crackers in a lunchbox, some carrot sticks, some cheese, among many other options. Here you'll find the best containers to take on your trip!
The stay
Upon arrival, make the place where you will be staying as comfortable as possible for the family so that they feel practically at home. For the baby, it is very important to have their comfort items (bassinet, pillow, sleeping blanket, etc.), as well as other reference items (most used toys, feeding plate, among others).
However, for this stage of the trip, it's still important to think about having fun (safely!) during those much-anticipated trips to the beach or pool. First, make sure you bring appropriate swimwear, such as this swimsuit with UV protection >50, as well as a sun hat . Then, ensure fun with sets of buckets and beach toys, or even a smaller pool that you can place near your hat or enjoy in the garden or balcony of your summer house. Don't forget the floats or beach towels; here you'll find the essential items to ensure the best for your baby during the summer holidays.
And because vacations aren't just about the beach and pool, consider also leaving some space to bring a scooter, bicycle, or tricycle for your family outings when you're exploring the area where you're staying.
Without packing your whole house, take only the essentials that suit your family vacation style and where you'll be staying. The important thing is that you relax and enjoy yourselves to the fullest because these are the moments that will be treasured forever. Happy holidays!
